Eva; self-portraits...

Sometimes I can´t believe how you can be overwhelmed by nature. When I´m at the seaside and looking at the sun, which is starting to hide in the ocean, I feel free and unbelievably happy. You don´t have to think about the stressful things in life at that moment, you´re just there looking at beauty.

Grace; My song of the moment...

'Bye' by Elliott Smith. I listened to it whilst walking through an underground station.. It was so wierd and atmosphericy. Please try this at home :)

Grace; The Mehran Mocha cake :D

I introduce the Mehran Mocha cake! An scrummdiddlyupmtious mix of coffee and chocolate, topped off with chocolate icing and dark chocolate shavings. Tasted like brownies, nom.

I got the recipe from here.

They say you have to crack a few eggs to make a good omlette...shame I wasn't making omlettes.

Eva; little shops in Bremen

I love going to little shops, which sell all the things you don´t really need. You can look at it for hours, but you hardly ever buy anything...
Love Eva :)

Eva; my favorite cupcake Leyla!

I chose the peach cupcake with chocolate cream for my dear friend Leyla! She has beautiful long brown hair and the skin colour, which we all dream of! The choco- drops have almost the same colour as her eyes and of course I didn´t forget her wonderful red lips.
It was great fun to bake Leyla, especially, because I miss her so much!

Love Eva :)

Leyla mj ; The cupcake FAIL

All I can say is that my cupcake try was a complete fail. Nothing new for me haha, sorry Grace don’t take it personal. :/

Leyla mj ; Kölner Lichter

Every summer we have a great firework on the riverside. It’s a big event and people from all over the places come to see it.  I love the atmosphere, there are so many different people around you who are all peaceful together; Old people who dress up very fancy and Hip-hop kids on the other side. Before the firework starts we all get drinks and sit on the grass which is right next to the river. It is very romantic and nice to have a cold beer in the middle of the night in the grass next to the Rhein and watch a firework.

Grace; Love & Lemonade...

So I have spent the week surrounded by my extended family which has been lovely, and I would like to share my week with you :)

It turns out Barclay mints fit inside Polos. Go figure.

Summer Challenge #1; Cupcake Wars...

So the promised summer challenges have begun...week one is the cupcake challenge. The idea is that we will all make cupcakes which represent each other, including our dear friend Mehran who can be found here.
The idea spawns from a shop in cupcake Cologne called 'Royal Cupcakes' which has the little treats named after various famous people. So being the over optimistic people we are, we thought...why not try it ourselves?
In fact neither Mehran or Eva have ever made cupcakes before, and Leyla claims that every time she has made one they are rubbish. Only Grace seems to have had this experience as a child...wierd. The cupcakes have been assigned as follows...

Eva - Leyla cake
Leyla - Grace cake
Grace - Mehran cake
Mehran - Eva cake

The photos and recipes will be up at the end of the week :)

Eva; enjoying the summer holidays

I enjoy sitting in my garden or in the café in my holidays. After all the school work I need time for myself and places where I know I can relax.
Love Eva :)

Leyla Mj ; CSD

So now that I am back in my hometown the high life goes on! Cologne is the gay capital of Germany and the first weekend back, we had a great parade called the Christopher Street Day (CSD).
It is always a great event and every year the whole city meets to show that there is no need to hide your love and that we are all tolerated.  I LOVE KÖLN! :D

Grace; The Art of Chalk Drawing...

Recently I bought a 12 pack of coloured chalks to make a birthday card, and then put them away in the cupboard along with all the other unused stationary of my past. I thought they were doomed to a long life of slow decomposition and lack of sunlight, but one sunny Sunday afternoon I found myself with longing for a pavement mural.
So four of my cousins and me set out to the streets, with a box of barely used chalks in hand, and childhood spirit in our hearts. Suffice to say no great or brilliant works of art were created, but the experience was wierdly freeing. This childish graffiti art is definitely a good way to spend a sunny afternoon.

Eva; my hometown Bremen

I can´t believe that I´m in my hometown again, after 1 year in England. I almost forgot how much I love it: the parks the river and the atmosphere. I hope Grace and Leyla are coming as soon as possible so I can show them my favorite places...
Love Eva :)
